צבעוני זה השחור החדש - Color is the new black

עם כל הכבוד לתושבות מאה שערים - ויש כבוד, השחור הוא לא הצבע השולט בכיפה במסורת היהודית. סבי זצ"ל שהיה רב חשוב, אמר תמיד ל8 בנותיו : "שחור - זה צבע של נוצרים". וכך גדלתי - בידיעה שאם לובשים שחור צריך תמיד להוסיף צבע נוסף כדי לא ללכת בחוקות הגויים.
ממש מפריע לי בעין כשאני הולכת לחתונה בני ברקית, לראות את המוני בנות ישראל היפות לובשות שחורים - איך אפשר לשמוח כשרואים כל כך הרבה שחור בעין?
יש לי מטבע לשון חדש: צבע - ישמח לבב אנוש!

With all do respect to Mea Shearim women the color black is not the king of Jewish tradition. My grandfather who was a prominent Rabbi, always told his eight daughters: "black is the color of Christians." So I grew up knowing that when wearing black take care to always add other colors to it so as not go in "chukot goim."

It really bothers me to see at the average frum wedding that I attend, the masses of beautiful frum Jewish girls wearing black. How can you be happy when you see so much black in front of your eyes?

I have a new saying: "Color gladdens the heart of man!"  
[Translator Note: (Or as the case may be "women.") This is a play on the saying "Wine gladdens..."]

כאשר עוברים בשדה פרחים, מתמלא הלב אושר, האישונים מתרחבים, ואנו שואפים לקרבינו משב רוח רענן. מדוע לא ניישם זאת גם על עצמינו?
יש שחושבות כי כיון ששחור זה מרזה - או אולי אפילו צנוע יותר מצבעים אחרים (מה שהוכחתי כלא נכון), עליהן להצטייד בבגדים שחורים מכף רגל ועד ראש. אז יש לי בשורה בשבילכן בנות! - גם השמלה היפה ביותר - כאשר היא בצבע שחור קשה לראות את הגזרה והמרקם. אתן נראות כמו סתם צללית שחורה וחסרת יחוד!
ידוע המושג המקסים של "השמלה השחורה הקטנה", שחייבת להיות בכל ארון בגדים של אשה באשר היא.
אז שימו לב בנות: קודם כל על השמלה להיות - קטנה - הווי אומר, אם היא שחורה מלמעלה, עדיף שתהיה קצרה (עד אחרי הברך בלבד) ואם היא ארוכה, עדיף שתהיה נטולת שרוולים ואז ניתן לצוות אליה חולצה/ז'קט/שרוולון בצבע אחר.
ואם כבר הולכים על שחור - תמיד כדאי לשבור אותו בנעליים או חגורה או אפילו גרב בצבע שונה. ולהתאים תיק לצבע השונה. כך תיצרי מראה חגיגי ורענן שישמח את ליבך ואת לב רואייך:)

אז בואו נשאיר את השחור לגברים - ונתחיל למלא את החתונות בבגדי נשים צבעוניים ומשמחים!

When we are walking through a field of colorful flowers, the heart is filled with joy, eyes widen, and we take in a breath of fresh air. Why not apply this to ourselves?

Some think that because black is slimming or maybe even more modest than other colors (which I proved not to be true), they wears black from head to toe. So I have a message for you girls!  Even the most beautiful dress, when in black, it's hard to see the pattern and texture. You look like just a meaningless black silhouette!

We all know the charming concept of the "little black dress" that must be in every woman's wardrobe. So pay attention to this, ladies! First of all the dress has to be small - that is, if it is completely black, it's better if it's short (until after the knee only). If it is long, it's better to be without sleeves then you can  complete the look with a shirt or jacket of a different color. And while going for black, it's always good to break away from it by pairing it up with non-black shoes or a belt or even different color tights, matching it with a purse of the same color. So you create a festive and refreshing look to cheer you up along with anyone who sees you. :)

So let's leave the black to the men - and start to fill our wedding halls with colorful and joyful cloths!
